Cecily Guarrera is South African born and currently living in Wellington, New Zealand. She has a love, appreciation and enormous enthusiasm for all things cultural which is reflected strongly in her works.

Artistic influences include Cy Twombly, Picasso, Barbara Kruger, Giacametti, Tapis and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Cecily admires the works of Samuel Beckett, most especially his play "Happy Days". Other inspirations are the poets e.e cummings and William Carlos Williams and humanitarians Noam Chomsky and Mother Theresa.
